From the priests in Mirebalais: the current situation is dire.

Because of gangs and lack of law enforcement, people are moving from the capital and other cities to Mirebalais because it is defensible: there are only 3 roads in. Migrants come with only the clothes on their backs. Often their homes have been burned by gangs.

Food for one person is $2/day. Five gallons of clean drinking water costs one dollar. A one-room living space can be rented for $70/month.
