Between our more serious Bible study books, the Whole Bible group likes to relax a bit and choose something that is more accessible but that still relates to our spiritual journeys as Christians. The book chosen is Freeing Jesus by Diana Butler Bass. Freeing Jesus begins with an unusual request from Jesus heard by the author as she prayed in the National Cathedral – “Get me out of here!” Butler Bass then tells us the story of her own path as a Christian beginning with her Methodist upbringing through fundamentalism, evangelical seminary, to humm…I’ll let you know when I finish the book! We will be discussing the book on Zoom August 14, September 18, and October 2 from 10 to 12, Saturday mornings. Let me know if you would like to join us!
