March 31
Dear Friends,
We reached out and discovered that the Bryant Community Center Food Pantry, not far from our pantry, is operating. They are serving as a lunch pick-up point for students who otherwise would have a school lunch, as well as continuing to operate their pantry. They have extended their hours to five days a week, Monday-Friday, from 10-4. They are seeing a huge influx of patrons each day. At Monday night’s online meeting of the BDFP Coordinating Committee, we unanimously decided to offer the food stock in our pantry to the Bryant Community Center Pantry. March 20: The leadership of the Back Door Food Pantry regretfully announces that we must suspend service of The Back Door Food Pantry until further notice for the safety of our volunteers, our patrons, our building staff, and all who have contact with them. Our impulse is to serve, but it must not be at the cost of health to this network, especially if there are others better situated to do so in a safe manner.

On March 19, we were able to share our remaining bags of non-perishables with Skye at Bryant Community Center, and hope we can be a helpful partner with them, and others who may benefit from our support.

We will keep all of you apprised of our status if it changes, and will direct any patrons via signage to the Food Gatherers website

Thank you for your continuing support.
