St. Clare’s/Blue Ocean Joint Bible Study Group

Martin Heggestad will lead a seven-week Bible study group open to people from Blue Ocean as well as St. Clare’s. We will use Seven Stories: How to Study and Teach the Nonviolent Bible, by Anthony Bartlett, which offers an innovative and exciting take on scripture as God’s invitation to a just, forgiving, and nonviolent life. Bartlett’s book draws on René Girard’s radical interpretation of Christianity. The group is intended for people who have some background in Bible study (such as previous participation in a Disciples group). We will meet on Sunday mornings between services (from about 9:30-10:30) September 29 through November 10. If you would like to participate or have questions, contact Martin at heggesta@umich.edu.
