On May 26, we recognized the Rev. Gene Curry’s dedication and service to St. Clare’s. In May of 2017, he was called to serve our Parish as a Long Term Supply Priest. Since then, he has served us anytime and every time we needed him in both liturgical and pastoral roles.

We were blessed by his gifts of intelligence and kindness. To hear his sermon from May 26, visit this page of some Sermons from St. Clare’s. We appreciate his willingness to help whenever he could, and his respectful, nonjudgmental voice.

With our deep appreciation, we collected contributions to the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund, and we are still collecting contributions. Click here for more information on how to contribute. In addition, we presented him with a giant card that many parishioners signed and decorated. We also presented him with a watercolor painting from his painting instructor and St. Clare’s member, Jennifer Wolf.

Last, we said this prayer together before a special coffee hour with cake!

Almighty God, giver of every good gift, look graciously on Saint Clare’s Church and the Reverend Gene Curry, who has led us through the beginning of our transition period and provided pastoral care to our Parish.

The Rev. Gene and Ruth Curry (May 26, 2019)

We are lucky to call Gene and Ruth our friends, and we are glad that Gene will lead us again, even after our Interim Rector begins in June 2019. Thank you, Gene, for blessing us with your loving, freely giving presence.
