Sunday, May 5, in partnership with Temple Beth Emeth and Blue Ocean Faith, we’ll hold a Mitzvah Day. According to Wikipedia, ‘Mitzvah’ is the Hebrew biblical term for ‘deed’ or ‘commandment’, which has come to mean ‘good deed’ or ‘charitable act’ in contemporary English. The schedule of events is listed below. RSVP for lunch, volunteer for project(s), and reserve child care at bit.ly/2019Mitzvah.

10AM–Presentation by Washtenaw Congregational Sanctuary
11AM–Interfaith service
12PM–Lunch (RSVP at bit.ly/2019Mitzvah)
1PM–Community outreach projects (sign up required at bit.ly/2019Mitzvah)
1PM–Child care available, outreach project included (sign up required at bit.ly/2019Mitzvah)

There will also be a Mitzvah Day Food Drive for the Back Door Food Pantry.  Shopping bags with lists of specifically requested non-perishable food and personal hygiene items will be distributed to all 3 congregations, which can be returned to be sorted and stored in the pantry by one of the Mitzvah Day project teams!
