In past years, St. Clare’s has hosted residents from Delonis Center and Back Door Food Pantry Patrons for a Christmas Eve lunch because they don’t serve a noon meal at Delonis on that day. Attendance has declined in recent years, so we called the Shelter Association to see if there was a better way we could be of help at Christmas. They suggested we bring a noon meal to twelve people they serve who are recently discharged from the hospital or are undergoing chemotherapy. They stay at the Sonesta Inn hotel in Ann Arbor. We said we would be delighted to help. A group of folks have already volunteered to make a part of the meal, and Wendy Hatem and Tom Rich will deliver it to hotel on December 24th. If you volunteered already or have helped in the past, we are grateful for your help in making this day special for some folks in need.
