It’s that time again in which St. Clare’s and Temple Beth Emeth provide volunteers for Alpha House to provide dinners and brunches for their residents. You can make the food or buy prepared food and bring it to Alpha House any time before mid-afternoon. Volunteers are also needed to supervise children after dinner so that the adults can get a bit of time to themselves. Please use THE ALPHA HOUSE SIGNUP GENIUS to sign up to plan and prepare a meal and/or supervise children during the week of March 2-8. You’ll also find information about the current residents of Alpha House and recent menus in the signup.
Donations
Attached is the current list of items that Alpha House needs. Please review this list if you are interested in buying any other supplies for them. Alternatively, monetary donations can be made through St. Clare’s—mark your check or online donation for “Alpha House”.
Alpha House East
Alpha House has a temporary need for additional dinner support at Alpha House East (Towsley location in Ypsi) while their regular meal service is being reestablished. This is a new location and an ongoing need that may continue for several weeks. This is different from our regular week of meals we have helped with in the past. Dinner meals are needed for 18 adults. Meals may be homemade or purchased, and can be dropped off at Alpha House East by 5:30 pm on your scheduled day. There is one beef allergy; alternatives are available as needed. Alpha House East is located at 5631 McAuley Drive, Ypsilanti. Details including suggested items are provided in the signup link. You are welcome to contribute parts of a meal or the whole meal.
