Sunday, January 7, at 4:30 p.m.

Are you looking for one last Christmas season celebration? Join in a meaningful service and festive Epiphany party this Sunday evening!

Many of you have heard the good news of God’s dream, so different from the big lie of racism, through the language of Tell Me the Truth About Racism. Knut Hill shared a story from this program in a sermon last fall, and it was also the basis for our Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day story. Tell Me the Truth About Racism invites people of all ages into powerful wondering about the legacy of racism in our lives, but it uses language and a format that can be understood by children (although it’s powerful for adults too!).

St. Clare’s has been invited into a new experiment with the community that has sprung up around developing this work. We’re going to be the first hosts of a hybrid gathering to worship and give thanks to God for the work of dismantling racism, and how it changes and transforms us. We’ll hear stories and pray together with others across the world who have joined in this work, including the two founders, the Rev. Will Bouvel and Jennifer Holt Enriquez. Our own Knut Hill will preach! Use this Zoom link to join online.

Afterwards, those of us who are gathered at St. Clare’s will continue this celebration of Epiphany with a festive Three Kings dinner.

Please plan to join in this unique celebration and partnership; it’s a great chance to be a part of something new and emerging that is vital to the life of our churches and communities.
