I announced on November 22nd that Kelly Scheu, our deacon intern will be leaving us on December 31st. Her parting makes us sad, but we have been blessed with her love, caring and dedication to spreading the Gospel both at St. Clare’s and the wider community during her time with us here. It does not seem possible that she has been with us since September of 2019. In some ways it feels like she has always been a part of St. Clare’s and in other ways that we have not had her long enough. I realized when I invited her to do her internship with us that it would be for a limited time.

It is now time for us to say goodbye. Because of the Covid 19 restrictions, we cannot send her off the way we normally would with a festive party. In lieu of that we have planned a drive-by send-off on December 27th at 1pm in our circle drive at St. Clare’s. Please join us that day. If you would like to drop off a card, a basket will be available. Money is being collected for a purse for her at this time. If you would like to donate please either send a check to the office with a note on the check for Kelly’s purse or you can donate through e-giving, noting for Kelly’s purse.

Kelly may be ending her time as a deacon intern, but her friendship will continue with us. She may even be back for “Ashes to Go” this spring. Kelly has been a gift to us and we have learned much from her. She will truly be missed. Let us hold her in prayer as she continues to discern where God is calling her to serve next.
