Holy Conversations are an intimate way to come together in small circles to have dialogue between other participants with common faith and values but who had different experiences, different preferences and different needs as it pertains to their Christian journey. I was skeptical this would be another diocesan program, but I was curious to hear what would be discussed so I signed up for an in person circle.
It was an amazing experience. The conversations allowed all participants to share their story about the Church and its effect on their lives and their community. It also allowed a space for people to share their hopes and dreams for the future as well as a place to share the challenges that sometimes go unspoken. The holy conversations built new understanding of one another.
I was so honored to be present for the shared stories. I found the conversations very enlightening about how God was working in each of our lives and where everyone sensed God was working at St. Clare’s. It also was an amazing holy experience to listen to the stories of how important St. Clare’s has been to each of our lives. The brave space also allowed for all of us to share the challenges we had witnessed but at the same time voice the growth that came through the challenges. The love of St. Clare’s was palpable. I was honored to be a part of such open authentic conversations about God and the community of St. Clare’s.
