Guy Blackburn is graduating from Skyline High School this June. He competed as a rower on the crew team for 4 years and is planning to attend Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan this fall. He will major in Fisheries and Wildlife Management.

Calle Faerber is graduating with honors from Canton High School. She has been active in student council, the National Honor Society, and a social club where students with disabilities are paired with students without disabilities. Her NHS senior service project consisted of hosting a dance at the school gym for students with disabilities. Calle also played second base for the Canton Chiefs softball team and was recognized as the “Defensive Player of the Year” in the 2019 season. Unfortunately, her senior year on the varsity team didn’t happen when Covid-19 forced the closure of schools and the cancellation of all spring sports. Maintaining a personal exercise regimen, frequent FaceTiming with friends, and focusing on the future has helped Calle deal with the loss of her final months in school as a senior, including no spring break trip or prom, due to the pandemic. Her family is hopeful that a scaled-back version of an in-person graduation ceremony can be held in late July per the district’s plan. Calle will be attending Grand Valley State University in the fall where she has received several academic scholarships that cover four years of tuition. She plans to major in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education.
