Our annual Food Gatherers’ Carrot Credit award letter arrived, and it is hard news: we received $10,000 less than last year, bringing our 2019 award to $18,000. To put this in perspective, over the past 5 years, our grant has decreased by a total of $20,000.

The Food Gatherers Director of Community Food Programs, Markell Miller, wrote in her award letter, “I want to be clear that our reduction in Carrot Credits is not  due to inadequate program quality or impact. You have a model program for a volunteer run pantry. We have looked at the distribution of resources throughout our county and to different agencies providing similar hours and service, and are working toward distributing Carrot Credits more equitably in our network.”

Our projected expenses for the 2019-20 fiscal year will be close to $58,000.  To maintain our current level of service, we need to find new revenues and funding sources to make up the $10,000 difference.

For those who volunteer, thank you!
For those who donate to the pantry, thank you!
To all who believe in the work we do, thank you!
Together we can find a way!

In gratitude, Kathy Daly and Ellie Davidson, Co-Chairs
