Sunday, May 5, in partnership with Temple Beth Emeth and Blue Ocean Faith, we’ll hold a Mitzvah Day. According to Wikipedia, ‘Mitzvah’ is the Hebrew biblical term for ‘deed’ or ‘commandment’, which has come to mean ‘good deed’ or ‘charitable act’ in contemporary English. There will also be a Mitzvah Day Food Drive for the Back Door Food Pantry.  Shopping bags with lists of specifically requested non-perishable food and personal hygiene items will be distributed to all 3 congregations, which can be returned to be sorted and stored in the pantry by one of the Mitzvah Day project teams!
