Genesis volunteers are assisting the Rotating Shelter in March by partnering with the host site for the month, Zion Lutheran. There is a particular need for volunteer evening and overnight hosts all month, as well as meals during the second half of the month. Drivers are not needed this year. COVID precautions protect guests and hosts including weekly testing of the guests who are experiencing homelessness. - Meals (7 PM) drop off, or bring and serve | meals can be ready to serve or individually wrapped, contact James Rivard for details: (734) 846-5694.
- Evening Hosts (7 PM to midnight) welcome guests and assist/serve dinner. Stay until the SAWC Staff “Overnight Host” arrives at midnight.
- Evening/Overnight Hosts (7 PM to 7 AM) welcome guests and assist/serve dinner. This host may sleep after the SAWC Staff person arrives at midnight – there is a separate sleeping room for hosts, mattress provided, BYO pillow/bedding.
