May 3, 2020

In the past few years, we have joined with Temple Beth Emeth (TBE) and Blue Ocean Faith to do Mitzvah Day, a day of service to our community. This year, Blue Ocean Faith will continue their sole focus on outreach to Ozone House and the TBE Social Justice committee has decided that, to rekindle the temple’s enthusiasm and commitment and involve more TBE children, youth, and families, they need to focus their Mitzvah Day this year on building connections within their own community and focusing on the Jewish meaning of Mitzvah, independent of other congregations. We understand and wish them both well in their efforts.

And so, St. Clare’s will return to a parish Sunday of Service with a focus on community assistance projects dear to our hearts. The good news is that Blue Ocean Faith’s activities will allow them to forgo worshiping in the Social Hall on May 3, so we can kick off our Sunday of Service with a luncheon in the Social Hall prior to dispersing to our project sites.  Stay tuned for sign-up opportunities.

A committee is forming to identify specific outreach efforts for that afternoon.  New members are always welcome!  Contact Linda Klimach lklimach@comcast.net.
